Description

The RNT SE Electronics has developed a superior tube microphone in cooperation with Rupert Neve. Rupert Neve's first and only tube microphone with a unique design and includes the same op-amps that can be found in the Rupert Neve Designs 5088 analog mixer. the newly designed capsule is made and tuned by hand. He has a super-high sensitivity and can bear a huge sound pressure of up to 153dB. Therefore, no source is too high (or too low) for the RNT. filter and the directional characteristic can be set. The polar pattern is selectable via a rotary switch with nine positions between omni, cardioid and figure-8. This allows for maximum versatility for each recording situation. Inside the power supply are Class-A op-amps, developed by the team of Rupert Neve Designs, which act as a buffer between the microphone and the preamplifier. The gain can be set to -12 dB (for very loud sources), 0dB or + 12dB and offers enormous headroom. The circuit is completely flat from 1Hz to 30kHz, and has a difference of 2 dB up to 100kHz. This makes for a beautiful natural look.
